Bosco Sodi

Mexico City, 1970.
Bosco Sodi is strongly related to his country's memory and tradition of the greatest Mexican mural painters, tradition that he recovers and reincarnates in the present. Sodi explores the areas where nature and human merge and that seek the beauty behind destruction. Starting from materiality and transcending this limitation, his pieces achieve a heightened sense of spirituality. He lived in Paris, Barcelona and Berlin before arriving in New York, where he nowadays lives and works although he maintains studios in each of these cities. Doubtless, this nomadism enriches his look and vision. The employed materials vary among locations, which emphasizes the uniqueness of each piece and strengthens the link between work and the place in which it is created.
