Galeria Carles Taché

International Art Paper

From next Thursday September 29th and coinciding with the second edition of the Barcelona Gallery Weekend, Galeria Carles Taché is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition International Art Paper, which will be hosted until next December.

International Art Paper is an exhibition completely devoted to paper and gathers artworks by most of the artists represented by the gallery and by a selected group of invited artists. The group meets Miguel Ángel Campano (Madrid, 1948), Jordi Colomer (Barcelona, 1962), Tara Goswami (Shillong, India), Tamar Halpern (Los Angeles, CA, 1979), Michael Joo (Ithaca, USA, 1966) , Santi Moix (Barcelona, 1960), Cornelia Parker (Cheshire,UK, 1956), Javier Pérez (Bilbao, 1968), Sean Scully (Dublin, 1945), Bosco Sodi (Mexico City, 1970), Tavares Strachan (Bahamas, 1979), Keith Tyson (UK, 1969) and Julio Vaquero (Barcelona, 1958).

The show focuses on the paper support as the unifying concept and offers a visit through different artists and decades where paper befalls the common denominator and shows the wide range of techniques that can be applied to it. We fundamentally find collage, photography with different revealing systems and drawing, all creating a dialogue that makes unexpected connections between the parts arise. The result is a heterogeneous and rich discourse, where we can see processes of prolonged tempos and others with faster ones too.
